Canon Lens Error Fix
This was a Christmas present from my husband a couple years ago, so I was sick to my stomach to think I had to tell him my camera was broke. Otherwise, I'll likely just give up on it. I called Canon and they stated that I should mail the camera to them, they would access whether it was covered by warranty once it was in their possession, and quote Just got home yesterday and i tried tip #7 today. have a peek here

Sorry to say that only about half of the lens errors can be corrected by these methods. I did two thing. 1) Remove the battery and replace with new batteries 2) Hold the Shutter button while I pressed the power button.

Thanks in advance! With the camera pointing downwards, lightly tap around the lens barrel with a pencil, repeatedly. I tried to fix it using compressed air blown into the gaps between the lens barrels but that didn't seem to make any difference. Canon G12 Lens Error We tried them all and ended up taking a few screws out and then oiling around the lens with sewing machine or hair clipper oil.

Was this answer helpful? Canon Lens Error 01 So, I pushed the lens down evenly with my thumbs, and wa la no more camera lens error. And I didn't get sand in it (as far as I know).

I mean, a loud zoom motor, or a £100 repair bill? Each time I tried to power up the camera I got "Lens Error, automatically shutting down - Restart Camera" - and it would turn off. i've tried all the suggestions but none of them are working :(it says lens error, restart camera. You can also try turning the camera on and off while doing the light twists and pulls.
It saved me a lot of money.... However having followed these instructions the lens has clicked back in place and now seems to be working perfectly again!!
