Camera Lens Error Canon
Sorry to say that only about half of the lens errors can be corrected by these methods. I didn't even do anything except to take a picture with it. We bought it from Best Buy and made sure to get the 4 year warranty plan. The lens retracted all the way - but then extended half-way again. Source
How do I solve this problem? My daughter dropped her Casio Ex-Z1050 while taking a picture and the lens would not extend fully and would retract again right away, but not fully. Blowing compressed air into the lens did the trick! I DID NOT drop the camera. #7 worked for me.

HiI tried all your tips and eventually had no option but to force the lens.
First, I took out the battery and the memory card. Other manufacturers might have a different name for the same problem (lens error, access error, zoom error, lens obstructed, focus error...). The SD1000 is a nice camera at a nice price. Finally I started fooling around with buttons b/c like all electronics sometimes using combinations of buttons help clear the issue. Thank you. I have a Canon PowerShot A530 and I dropped it while I was taking a picture and it turned off.
I feel that these modern ultra zooms are inherently poorly designed, and do not last anywhere close to a reasonable amount of cycles.
