When I was working in the area of the purge cleaning station, I seem to have dislodged a clear (in color), flexible, rubber (or plastic) part that is approximately an inch Called Canon and opted for a refurbished unit--even though, like poster wrote, mine was only a few weeks old, and I could have a refurb that is much older than mine. Cycle the power on/off a couple of time to suck the windex through the purge unit. With the printhead stuck, I can't get to the purge unit? - unknown Your explanation of where the purge unit resided on the 830 did the trick for me.

I moved the print heads back and forth a couple of times to make sure there was no more paper stuck, turned it off and on and yes ahhhh it works Got lots of black ink.
Put the lid down plugged in and switch it onif that doesn't work thenTry cleaning the sponges.The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. Here are a couple of things to try.
