The door opens automatically at the start if that matters. comes up on the computer screen as well as the display.I have the printer top removed...the service manual indicates AP motor problem.purge motor I assume. I have tried all the things with the print purge area etc. If you try and move it will the power on, you may damage the drive belt or drive motor. I moved the print heads back and forth a couple of times to make sure there was no more paper stuck, turned it off and on and yes ahhhh it works Canon 6a00 When no more colour can be seen you are done.

I just read your post today and have already fixed my MP830. Canon A6000 When I moved the cartriges to the left that white thing attached to the spring underneath was stuck. Fished it out with a pair of long tweezers and everything seems fine now.
I packed it in padding and placed it in a hardside suitcase and brought it with me to Uruguay whereupon turning it on I am now at the point described above.

In the past this has worked. We finally wadded up paper towels under the machine and poured isopropyl (antiseptic) alcohol over ink pad and associated mechanism. ME confused! Gave the white thing a little nudge, it moved, turned it back on and alls ok again! got an MP780 that now refuses to start, seems tog et power but the lcd display only shows a row of 'blocks' along the bottom. Feels rectangular and gently depresses a bit when blotted. I am not particularly happy with the product. Just another note, check to see if you have lost a picture card, it may be causing an error because it is stuck inside the machine jamming the head cleaner. THe "squeegee" mechanism was not readily noticeable when moving the head to the left on ours, it was to the right behind the front right casing.

If so the print head is probably cooked and needs to be replaced. Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.5. It's been my work horse and I hate to part with it. *sigh* Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
