Canon Mp500 Error Code 6a00


I shut off the printer and moved the printer cartridge assembly, which moved freely. Canon service said to either take to service center or have a refurbished unit sent. Open the machine and remove the ink cartridges then look inside with a flash light and make sure nothing is in the path of the carriage. It worked! Check This Out

By the way this was my first error on this printer after having it for almost 4 yrs. I would also suggest that you use a syringe or an eye dropper and put several drops of Windex(or water) on each pad and let it soak down through the Purge Right where the paper was. There is no service center near where I live, so I am really out of luck.

There is sometimes a small sponge like pad that can pop up and cause it to get stuck if that popped up you will need to push it back down. I wiggled the little rectangular sponge (it's not soft like a sponge, but looks like one) around a little bit with a pen and got it back sitting flat in it's Many, many thanks.

I've had two canons but never again. It sounded like it was printing, then fininshed, but nothing came out.
