Manually moved the print head left and right, turned the printer on/off. The purge unit is the assembly where the print head parks when not in use. This fixed the problem -- at least for now. The printhead and ink carts should come to the center of your Multifunction Unit.

I ran out of ink and when I replaced the ink I now get a Error 6A00 code. Error is gone!Thanks again! Canon service said to either take to service center or have a refurbished unit sent. Nothing will fix it.However I think the most likely cause is a blocked printhead that the printers cleaning system can't clear.
