I managed to mess up on my first attempt because we I modified the registry I was not in SAFE mode and the entries I deleted reappeared upon the next reboot. Like the others listed in this thread, I was receiving the Error 1000 (no error text available) error on a Windows 2000 Pro SP-4 machine.

Two users got this error since yesterday. Ensure you can see ALL hidden and system files (Folder Options) 2. I then deleted the pesky file and rename my file to the orginal name. The day of the problem (oct 12th)the computer detected and deleted a virus, trojan.killfiles.

I was unable to kill this process in any mode I booted in to so I pulled the drive and mounted it into another machine as a slave drive. Tried running Advanced Spybot, etc... I rebooted station and tested again. The user had the Citrix Online Plugin Web installed Version 11.0.
Pulled the hard drive out of the affected machine, and put it into another machine as a secondary drive.
